Adult Ministries

“Transforming lives into Christ-like disciples”
Colossians 1:28 says, “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.” This verse gives the Biblical basis for the purpose of the Adult Ministries at the Hope Summit Christian Church. Simply stated, the purpose of the Adult Ministry is “to provide opportunities that will guide people on their spiritual journey, transforming their lives into Christ-like disciples.” God wants every believer to develop the character of Christ. The ultimate goal of a disciple is to become like Jesus.
Adult Ministry focuses in these four areas to fulfill its purpose:

1. Weekend and weekday Adult Bible Fellowships
2. Life Groups
3. Life Development Classes or seminars on prayer, parenting, stewardship, marriage enrichment, etc
   

Each of these areas aim at a different target of a balanced program of discipleship:

• Know the Word of God (Knowledge)
  
• Have the Mind of Christ (Perspective)
  
• Have the Heart of God (Conviction)
  
• Do all to the Glory of God (Skill)
  
• Have the Character of God (Character)
  
1. The Adult Bible Fellowship classes target “Knowledge” and “Perspective.”
   
2. Life Development Classes or seminars target “Skills” development.
   
3. Small Groups target “Character” and incorporate all five of the purposes of the church in their structure (Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, and Evangelism).
